Todd Ditmire

Dr Ditmire has more than 18 years experience in the management and delivery of high power laser projects, including the 180J 130fs Texas Petawatt laser, The 700mJ 35fs THOR Ti:Sapphire laser and the 1.6J 115fs GHOST Nd:Glass laser – all at UT Austin.  Prior to his work at the University of Texas, he was involved with TW-class lasers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Imperial College.  He is the author of over 140 refereed papers on high power lasers, laser plasma physics and high intensity strong field physics.  Dr Ditmire has a PhD in Applied Science from UC Davis.

Erhard Gaul

Dr Gaul has more than 20 years experience in the design, construction and commissioning of high peak power laser systems.  His contributions include work done on the 180J 130fs Texas Petawatt laser, the 300J 500fs PHELIX laser at GSI Darmstadt, the PHELIX 500J ns laser system and numerous other systems using Ti:Sapphire, Nd:YAG and Nd:YLF.  He is active in the ultra-intense laser community and has served on the Scientific Advisory Panel at GSI as well as the Review Panel for the 10PW Vulcan laser at Rutherford Appleton Lab.  Dr Gaul received his PhD in Physics from the University of Texas, Austin.

Mikael Martinez

Mr Martinez has 19 years experience in the construction and delivery of high power laser systems.  He was the project manager on the Texas Petawatt laser program, responsible for supply chain management and was instrumental in developing the control and safety systems.  Prior to his work at UT Austin, he held Engineering positions at ESI, specializing in laser-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, focusing on supply chain management and procurement for high peak power laser systems.  Mr Martinez received his BA in Laser Optical Engineering Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology.

William White

Dr Bill White has over 30 years experience in the design, development and operation of high-energy laser systems.  He was the architect for many of the large laser systems at Lawrence Livermore National Lab and SLAC including JanUSP, Titan and Janus upgrade.  He was also responsible for many of the custom high-energy laser designs of Positive Light.  He received his PhD in Physics from Texas A&M University.

Gilliss Dyer

Dr Dyer has 13 years experience in the construction and delivery of high peak power laser projects, with a focus on target systems in both high and low f/# focusing geometries.  He is also experienced with diagnosing and correcting pulse contrast, wavefront, dispersion and spatial/spectral uniformity on a petawatt-class laser system.  He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Texas, Austin.

Aaron Bernstein

Dr Bernstein has over 18 years experience in operations of high peak power laser systems, including the management of laser upgrades to 1 PW peak power.  In addition to his research on high-intensity laser propagation, he has also developed novel wavefront detection and correction technologies.  He received his PhD in Optical Science and Engineering from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

Gilles Cheriaux

Dr Cheriaux has over 22 years experience in the design and implementation of ultra-intense laser systems. While at Ecole Polytechnique, CNRS in France, he was instrumental in the development of the large amplifier elements of the Apollon-10P 10 PW laser system as well as integration of adaptive optics and advanced pulse cleaning methodologies using cross-polarized wave generation (XPW). He completed his PhD at LOA in France, and a postdoc at the Center for Ultrafast Science at the University of Michigan.

Dave Hidinger

Mr. Hidinger has 30 years of experience in Research and Development, technology management, and leadership.  A retired Air Force officer, Mr. Hidinger has served as a Physicist, Nuclear Engineer, Program Manager, and Test Analyst during his 20 year career.  He has extensive technical expertise in nuclear weapon effects and Directed Energy technologies and effects.  Mr. Hidinger joined National Energetics from the Lockheed Martin Corporation, where he led a dedicated research group providing advanced technology solutions to the warfighter.  He received a BS in Engineering Physics from The Ohio State University and a MS in Nuclear Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.

Matt Krepps

Dr. Krepps has been a practitioner and teacher of the principles of business strategy and innovation for more than 20 years.  He founded, built, and sold an educational technology company and has lectured on the subjects of business strategy and innovation at the top ranked business schools in North America (Harvard and MIT), Europe (Insead) and Asia (Hong University of Science & Technology and China Europe International Business School), as well as serving in an advisory capacity to many of the world’s largest firms.  He received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University.

Curt Frederickson

VP Sales and Marketing

Mr Frederickson has over 25 years experience in international sales and product development of lasers and laser systems, developing new markets in industry and science for Continuum, JDSU, SDL and Spectra-Physics.  He has extensive experience in lasers and laser-based applications as well as management of cross-functional laser design teams.  He received his MBA from Santa Clara University and his MS in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
