Gilles Cheriaux joins the National Energetics Team
January 6, 2016
National Energetics is pleased to announce that Dr. Gilles Cheriaux has joined the company as a Senior Scientist to further our development of components and systems for ultra-intense lasers. Gilles will be working with the NE team on the L4 10 PW laser build for the ELI Beamlines project in the Czech Republic as well as future-oriented new projects.
Gilles is recognized around the world as one of the premier laser scientists in the development of ultra-intense laser systems, with over 15 years at Ecole Polytechnique, CNRS in France. While there, he was instrumental in the development of the large amplifier elements of the Apollon-10P system as well as integration of adaptive optics and advanced pulse cleaning methodologies using cross-polarized wave generation (XPW). He completed his PhD at LOA in France, and a postdoc at the Center for Ultrafast Science at the University of Michigan. He has over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as participating as a committee member and presenter in over 50 international technical conferences.
Todd Ditmire, President of National Energetics said “Gilles is a world-class laser scientist who brings a complementary set of skills to the National Energetics team. Combined, we are arguably now the strongest technical commercial team, with the most practical experience in designing and building ultra-intense laser systems in the world.”
Located in Austin, Texas, National Energetics is focused on bringing next-generation emerging technologies to TW and PW and kJ-class laser systems for improved performance and reliability. For further information, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
